Sunk Lake is a natural area wildlife refuge, created by the New Madrid earthquake, holding deer, turkey and ducks, with influence from thousands of acres of farm and timber land. Sunk Lake is a nonhunting refuge which makes the West boundary of this property private during hunting season. The 22 acres of hardwoods is made up of upland species and cypress and buck brush. The depressed areas flood with rainfall and Mississippi River rises above 28’ Memphis gauge. Ducks use Sunk Lake and this property as resting areas during the day, after feeding all night on corn and grain planted for waterfowl on nearby John Tully WMA.
